Our Story
SmartShape Design was founded in 1989 by Mike Maczuzak. Headquartered in the heart of Downtown Cleveland, SmartShape's beginnings were richly steeped in industrial design. As our team and clientele grew, so did our service offerings. Due to the nature of design and engineering being so interdependent, we added full mechanical engineering capabilities to our portfolio of services in 2001, along with digital UI/UX shortly after in 2009. Our combined services method allows us to work hand-in-hand with clients to develop category-defining products and experiences. We offer integrated concept to market expertise, allowing us to assist companies and clients at any stage of the product development process.
